Afin de favoriser la structuration d’une filière pérenne de valorisation des laines locales, DEFI-Laine souhaite, par l’innovation, atteindre les objectifs suivants :

Augmenter le prix de vente de la laine pour les éleveurs et impliquer ceux-ci dans les transformations de ‘’leur’’ matière ;
Donner du travail aux PME locales, susciter des collaborations et innovations ;
Intégrer dans une même dynamique éleveurs, tondeurs, artisans, entreprises, associations, designers, consommateurs, pouvoirs publics, etc ;
Proposer aux consommateurs une variété de produits durables en laine locale, artisanaux, de série et industriels.

Cette action porte sur le repérage des éleveurs et acheteurs intéressés et sur un classement avec testing des lots de laine pour aboutir à la conception d’un outil numérique de mise en lien entre producteurs/lots de laine et acheteurs.

Des formations à la tonte pour une laine de qualité ainsi que des collecte physique à petite échelle seront également réalisées.

Cet axe de travail sera constitué de nombreuses sous-actions visant chacune à stimuler la création de nouveaux débouchés pour la laine locale :

Réalisation d’une étude de marché à l’échelle de la Grande Région ;
Accompagnement individualisé de porteurs de projets ;
Création et commercialisation de produits issus de réserves naturelles et zones Natura 2000 ;
Développement d’un produit industriel innovant et écologique valorisant la laine de la Grande Région ;
Formations à destination des élèves des écoles agricoles et formations tous publics : connaissance de la laine, impact des pratiques d’élevage sur la laine, impact de l’élevage ovin sur la biodiversité, etc. ;
Mise en place d’une opération innovante de bâtiment témoin ;
Tenue de deux concours de l’innovation (professionnel et étudiant) pour les produits en laine de la Grande Région

La conception d’outils de vulgarisation autour de la laine ;
Des journées professionnelles de découvertes des entreprises transformant la laine et de leur produits ;
Des manifestations grands publics autour de ce matériaux afin de mettre en avant ses qualités et propriétés
Des actions de promotion de la laine dans le bâtiment, notamment autour de la visite de bâtiments témoins isolés en laine de mouton ;
La création d’une Maison des Laines: un lieu d’accueil, de rencontres et d’échanges, centré sur la mise en valeur des laines locales dont la vocation première sera la création, la fabrication et l’innovation lainière. ;
La diffusion des avancées du projet DEFI-Laine via l’envoi d’une newsletter et l’animation d’un site web global.
